Proton: free mobile games send user data to Russia and China
Proton analyzed the top 100 free-to-play Android games on Google Play and found most send personal data to ad-tech firms in China, Russia, Israel and Five Eyes nations. In the US, games with Chinese trackers were downloaded 15.8 million times in a month; in the UK, 3 million of 3.6 million downloads contained them.
