2027 Mercedes G 580 EV gets NACS port, 249-mile range

Mercedes-Benz has opened US orders for the 2027 electric G 580. The SUV swaps CCS1 for a Tesla-style NACS port, adds a second J1772 connector, charges 0–80% in 29 minutes and now offers an EPA-estimated 249 miles of range. Pricing starts at $165,200.

• NACS port replaces CCS1, plus a separate J1772 inlet for AC charging
• 0–80% DC charging takes 29 minutes, down from 32 minutes
• Consumption drops to 48 kWh/100 miles, adding 10 miles of range to 249
• Price rises to $165,200; battery stays at 117 kWh
