India now has five chip plants in commercial production, first fab due December 2026

Five Indian facilities are now producing chips commercially: Micron, Kaynes Semicon and CG Semi in Sanand, plus CDIL in Mohali and Suchi Semicon in Surat, the latter two launched on 17 September 2026. All are packaging and test plants; Tata's first silicon fab in Dholera targets first silicon in December 2026 and full production around 2028.
