Study: 90.7% of PRs AI-assisted, half merged without human review

Design engineer James Coombs analyzed 1,239 pull requests across 49 repositories from August 24 to September 20, 2026: 90.7% were AI-assisted and 50.6% merged without review from any person's account. Review metrics look healthy only because bots are counted as reviewers.
