Delhi cut grid losses from 50% to 5-6% in 25 years

Over a quarter century, Delhi's government and distribution utilities modernized an aging grid: losses fell from over 50% in 2002 to 5-6% in 2026, and the reliability index rose from about 70% to over 99.9%. Peak demand hit 8,748 MW, with 48.5% of power from coal and 26.5% from natural gas.
