Meta unveils $1,299.99 VR glasses with external compute puck

Meta will launch its VR glasses in spring 2027 for $1,299.99: 100 g weight, an external compute puck, dual micro OLED displays at 2412×2288 per eye, 120 Hz and 37 ppd. The device competes with XREAL Aura AR glasses, expected in fall 2026 for under $1,500.
