Social media impersonation tops cyber threats for next three years

New research finds social media impersonation and defamation have jumped from the fifth greatest cyber threat to the top expected threat over the next three years. Employee and executive impersonation, including deepfakes, entered the top five risks for the first time, while 72% of senior tech leaders called 2025 threat levels critical.
