Qualcomm may be working on official GPU drivers for PC games on Android
According to Geekerwan, Qualcomm is developing official GPU drivers for PC game translation and is exploring direct DirectX 12 support on Android. On a reference device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong ran in DX12 mode through a translation layer at just over 30 FPS on average. Qualcomm has not officially confirmed native DirectX 12 support.
- Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong averaged just over 30 FPS in DX12 mode on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 reference device
- The chips use a 2+6 Oryon CPU setup: two Prime cores up to 5GHz and six Performance cores up to 4GHz
- The Extreme version adds dedicated Adreno Matrix cores for super resolution and frame generation
- Qualcomm has not officially confirmed native DirectX 12 support for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series
