Chinese EV Makers Race to Beat Tesla With Ultra-Fast Charging

Geely, BYD and Li Auto are developing charging systems with megawatt-level power: Geely claims 10% to 70% in about 4.5 minutes, BYD's Blade battery reaches 10% to 97% in roughly nine minutes, and Li Auto's CATL 5C Kirin battery adds up to 500 km of range in about 12 minutes. For comparison, a typical Tesla Supercharger session from 10% to 80% takes 15 to 25 minutes.
