ICANN approves deletion of 22,000 third-level .name domains

ICANN has approved Verisign's request to discontinue third-level .name registrations, affecting about 22,000 addresses including ones paid through 2040. Deletion is expected around February 2027 after at least 90 days' notice; registrants were not consulted.
